Broward sheriff: 4 arrested for aiding murder suspect’s escape
Resiles had been escorted to Broward County Courthouse in Fort Lauderdale on Friday morning for a pre-trial conference.

The courthouse was evacuated and put on lockdown before eventually being reopened on Friday.
Four people are under arrest for allegedly helping a murder suspect escape from a Florida courtroom but the suspect remains at large.
Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel said Saturday that detectives have information that indicates Resiles has a weapon and is getting assistance.
Sheriff’s deputies set up a perimeter within minutes of the escape, but Resiles had already fled the area by then, Israel said.
Resiles’ lawyer H. Dohn Williams said, “I’m kind of shocked”.
Israel said the immediate focus is on capturing Resiles, who was described in wanted posters as potentially armed and unsafe.
Around 10 AM, reports came in after an inmate, later identified as 22-year-old Dayonte Resiles, reportedly broke free of handcuffs and shackles before leaving his jumpsuit on the crown.
Resiles was in the jury box with other prisoners who were awaiting their hearings. “We believe he exited the north end of the courthouse”. “We will do everything we can to bring him back into custody safely, quickly and efficiently”. Surveillance video caught Resiles running to outside daylight through a courthouse stairway door.
Prosecutors say an arrest warrant has been issued for a white former Atlanta police officer who fatally shot black motorist. Resiles is accused of the September 2014 stabbing death of Jill Halliburton Su, a member of the family that founded the Halliburton oil services. “One is they weren’t put on tight enough, or you have a cuff key”.
‘Very surprised. I’ve been practicing in Fort Lauderdale for 43 years and I’ve never had a client escape or attempt to escape in this matter, ‘ Williams said.

Davie police responding to a possible home invasion call say they found Su’s body in the master bedroom, hands and feet tied, clad only in underwear and having been stabbed numerous times.
