Browns CB Williams suspended, fined for violating team rules
Defensive back K’Waun Williams has been suspended by the Browns for two weeks and fined an unspecified amount for “multiple violations of team rules”, the team announced the morning of August 17. Their latest disconnect comes with two-year nickel corner K’Waun Williams. He received treatment after the injury occurred at Ohio State but felt too sore to play against the Packers, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports, and Williams scratching himself from action apparently didn’t sit well with the Browns.

The Browns didn’t like the fact that Williams chose to sit and decided that his lack of appearance in the exhibition was due to a personal decision as opposed to injury. The team declared Williams inactive for a personal reason.
NFL Network was first to report the suspension and said the fine was for a game check – $35,294, 1/17 of his $600,000 salary.
The Akron Beacon Journal reported that Williams is scheduled to visit a doctor and receive a second opinion on his ankle on Wednesday afternoon.
Browns head coach Hue Jackson did not allow much when asked about Williams Tuesday.
“We’ll talk about that at a different time”, Jackson said.
