Browns Listening To Offers For First Overall Pick

Trubisky said he has a formal interview with the Browns on Friday night in Indianapolis. “He shows.I don’t think that’s what’s important”.

The former Ohio Mr. Football victor grew up watching the Browns and, when he enrolled at North Carolina, listed his hometown team as the one he’d most want to play for in his official team bio.

The Browns badly need an answer at quarterback, and Trubisky is from nearby Mentor, Ohio. “I like a guy that’s a little taller, and he’s over 6’2″ so that’s great for him”, Jackson said. “We would have to know all those things”. He also fills a position of need for a Browns squad that won one game last season.

Trubisky measuring in at a shade over 6-foot-2 on Thursday was news for a couple of reasons.

After Trubisky, Zay Jones of East Carolina will likely be the second player from a North Carolina school taken in the draft.

Last year, in his only game as the starter at North Carolina, Trubisky threw 30 touchdowns and six iinterceptions in 13 games. With two premium selections they could find themselves some cornerstone players, or they could whiff entirely as they have done in the past.

“In my opinion, I think it’s a very good quarterback class”, Trubisky said.

If the Browns end up liking what they see via trade (Jimmy Garoppolo) or in the upcoming 2017 NFL Draft, then Griffin will be gone as soon as the new quarterback hits the roster.

Asked what he viewed as the ideal height he looks for in a quarterback, Jackson smiled and said, “6-2”.

The Browns had 26 starting quarterbacks from 1999-2016.

Kizer might be the most gifted physically. That’s why Jackson must insist on making any and all quarterback decisions, and most others for that matter.

– Florida State’s Dalvin Cook confidently said that he’s the best running back in this draft.

Or, you know, you could just go online and watch one of the dozens of scouting videos on any of these players and interpret your own results.

“We’re going to responsibly listen to any opportunities that are out there”, vice president of football operations Sashi Brown said Wednesday at the NFL combine. I came in with something to prove. To play the PR game as a front office and coaching staff coming off of a 1-15 season is an uphill climb out of the gate. I’m a guy who can make a lot of guys miss – pretty explosive.

Finally, it is hard to be a leader when you spend most of the season on the sidelines injured. It’s not just putting a quarterback on the team. You have to make sure he has enough weapons. Somebody filmed it and put it on social media and made it bigger than what it was.

Jackson wants to dig deep to learn what Trubisky knows about X’s and O’s and National Football League defenses, but he also wants to get an idea of what kind of leader his next quarterback will be. But he has the most experience. “That’s what I came here for, but we’re doing this together”. Some guys play better when they are at home, some guys don’t.

And maybe the quarterback questions will take on a different tone.
