Browns once again asked Patriots about possible Garoppolo trade
There had been much speculation that the Browns would pass on Garrett, a once-in-a-generation pass rusher widely regarded as the best player in the draft, in favour of North Carolina quarterback Mitchell Trubisky.

With the Bears moving up, the San Francisco 49ers dropped back to third and picked defensive lineman Solomon Thomas.
The Cleveland Browns focus on the defensive side of the football with both of the first round picks in the 2017 NFL Draft.
I had a lot of mixed feelings on draft night last night at The Map Room in downtown Cleveland. It’s just getting started. My favorite player growing up was Walter Payton. “The city of Chicago is my home now”.
“No question but we’re going to start him over there on defense for sure”. They also played him on offense and tried to find many ways to get him involved.
Apparently Phil Emery and Jerry Angelo were not the only Chicago Bears general managers willing to stake their futures on a quarterback gamble.
“I want to be the best”, Garrett said. They were rewarded with the Cavaliers winning the National Basketball Association title previous year and the Indians earning a trip to the World Series.
As we wait for the draft to resume tonight with rounds two and three, here are three takeaways from the first round.
The first round could see a slew of players from the nation’s top college programs get selected.
Leading up to the draft, there were rumbling about the Cleveland Browns possibly selecting Trubisky at No.1 overall. What’s unique is that this year, for the first time in program history, Texas A&M had the No. 1 overall pick.
After trading the No. 33 pick and a fourth-rounder to Green Bay, the Browns took the 6-foot-4, 245-pound Miami tight end David Njoku, an athletic playmaker who had 43 receptions for 698 yards and eight touchdowns for the Hurricanes in 2016. But for whatever reason, the Browns didn’t think he was the right player.
Everyone knows the Texans have a need at the quarterback position as Tom Savage isn’t viewed as a long-term solution. That may not be true for Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson, who went to the Texans at No. 12 overall.
I thought the Browns should’ve taken TE David Njoku instead of MI S Jabrill Peppers earlier in the first. “I’ll do whatever I can to help this team win games”.

Rumors have surfaced about Dalvin Cook’s character since the NFL Combine. But he shattered enough records as a red-shirt junior to become the hottest topic heading in the draft, where he was the first Tar Heel QB ever to be taken in the first round. And basically, when you look at it, it equated to giving up a little bit more than a third-round pick in our trade yesterday for Mitch. Nor was Western Kentucky guard/tackle Forrest Lamp, Florida State running back Dalvin Cook, or Notre Dame quarterback DeShone Kizer.
