He may yet be the designated player to return, which would only have him missing half the season rather than the full season, but he’s not set to even be re-evaluated until another three or four weeks, so him missing the minimum eight games would seem to be a stretch.

McCown was the subject of trade talks during the offseason, but the Browns are glad they hung on to him. If it turns into that, we just have to get him some more reps than what he had before.
