The Browns have released troublesome quarterback Johnny Manziel, ending his drama-filled stay with the team.

There was plenty of excitement when the Browns moved up to the 22nd pick in the 2014 NFL Draft for Manziel.
While Manziel was an average quarterback on the field, it was his off the field actions that helped the Browns, and possibly the rest of the National Football League to sour on the one-time star. “I will always remember the support I received from the organization, my teammates and especially the fans.” . The team was waiting to see if they could receive something in return for Manziel in a trade; when that didn’t work out they pulled the plug.
Since he spent the weekend of the Browns’ season finale in Las Vegas, Manziel has made regular appearances on social media from locales that include Miami, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
He started eight games and appeared in a total of 15. Manziel has completed 147 of 258 passes (57 percent) with seven touchdowns, seven interceptions and a career passer rating of 74.4. He added 259 rushing yards and one score. But he’s had other run-ins with law enforcement in the past two years as well. Manziel then drove back to her apartment, where she says he continued to attack her. Manziel was not arrested at the time, but the Dallas Police Department has sent the results of its investigation to a grand jury.
The following week, Manziel watched the majority of a 17-13 loss to the Panthers from the visiting team sideline at Bank of America Stadium after suffering a hamstring injury late in the first half. He had only two victories as a starter.
