Browns release QB Johnny Manziel after 2 troubling seasons
With the Browns (finally) dumping quarterback Johnny Manziel, the next question becomes whether someone else will give Manziel his latest second chance.

Manziel is now awaiting word from a Dallas grand jury on whether he will face charges related to an incident with his girlfriend.
The Cleveland Browns, as expected, cut quarterback Johnny Manziel on Fridayy, ending a turbulent two-year relationship defined by brief glimpses of on-field potential and numerous off-field incidents that sullied his reputation. The Browns included his pedestrian statistics but not any comment.
Manziel, 23, was a volatile figure during his time in Cleveland, coming to the franchise as arguably the most popular player in the 2014 National Football League draft, but leaving with speculation about his ability to control his life on and off the field.
Manziel’s tenure with the Browns was littered with controversy on and off the field, including rehab and allegations of domestic violence.
The NFL is also investigating him.
Browns fans turned to social media to voice their displeasure with both Manziel and the team, burning Manziel jerseys in dramatic fashion.
Following his rookie season, Manziel said he regretted not taking his job more seriously and vowed to come back better.

As he sat backstage inside New York’s Radio City Music Hall on draft day, Manziel famously sent a text to a Browns assistant coach urging the team to take him so they could “wreck this league” together. In January, he entered a treatment center to get help for an unspecified addiction. Pettine, who would eventually be fired, named him starter in Week 9, and Manziel showed promise against Cincinnati and Pittsburgh. One report had San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick wanting to play in Cleveland.
