Browns risk passing up elite QB in draft deal with Eagles
Also, the expectations are high enough when you’re the No. 2 pick, let alone what the Birds surrendered to Cleveland in the trade.

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Eagles are now listed with 60/1 odds to win Super Bowl LI next season while the Browns have 200/1 odds to win it all.
Cleveland may even reach for Penn State Nittany Lions quarterback Christian Hackenberg with that No. 32 overall pick should the top four quarterbacks already be off the board by the first pick of the second round. Assuming the Los Angeles Rams take either California’s Jared Goff or North Dakota State’s Carson Wentz, the Eagles presumably will select the other at No. 2. But everyones question is what is it that the Eagles are seeking? The Rams are meeting with both QBs this week, but they are just performing due diligence.
Despite the Eagles spending much of the pre-draft period flying across the country and working out the top quarterback prospects, most assumed it was nothing more than a smokescreen. The added selections gives Cleveland 12 picks in the 2016 National Football League draft, half of which are in the top 100.
The Eagles signed Sam Bradford to a $35 million, two-year contract in March. If Wentz doesn’t go to the Rams, he’ll nearly certainly be selected by the Philadelphia Eagles at No. 2 overall. The Browns new front office led by Sashi Brown has placed heavy emphasis on analytics in preparing for this years draft and putting together Clevelands roster.
He was mentored by then-quarterback Doug Pederson – who is now the Eagles’ head coach – before becoming the team’s starting signal-caller.
“They’re very close”, Pederson said of Goff and Wentz.
In exchange for the second-overall pick, the Eagles will send the Browns the eighth pick, their third round pick, and a fourth round pick this year, as well as a 2017 first-round pick and and 2018 second-round pick. “Executive vice president of football operations Howie Roseman said the team had been trying to move up ever since January”.
Earlier in the offseason, the Philadelphia Eagles moved up from No. 13 overall selection in a trade deal with the Miami Dolphins. “It’s hard to be great if you don’t take some risks”.
As for the quarterback position, Brown says RG3 has not been named the starter. Not only does he have to worry about Chase Daniels, he also has to worry about the second overall draft pick.

The Browns recently signed Robert Griffin III, making it easier to trade the second pick.
