Browns take Ogbah with first pick of 2nd round

With that No. 15 pick, the Browns selected Baylor receiver Corey Coleman, a 2015 consensus All-American and the victor of the Biletnikoff Award, given to the nation’s top collegiate receiver.

That doesn’t mean that it won’t work out.

The Browns, too, are confident they’re getting quality people in Ogbah and Baylor wide receiver Corey Coleman, their first-round pick. He is a blue collar player who has worked extremely hard and will be a great addition to their organization. They could keep moving down and still get that dickhead Connor Cook or Paxton Lynch.

OK. We’ll see how that goes. “It’s reality now but I still can’t believe it”. The Browns have a ton of needs, so all the extra picks gives him a better chance of finding worthwhile starters. “You think you’re going somewhere, but God has a plan”. They also had 11 picks in 2012, and only one – defensive lineman John Hughes – is still with the team. They are picking there because they won the most games. “I don’t take it for granted”. “The best teams are usually doing that, and everybody else is chasing receivers”. Maybe the Browns could beat “em to the punch”. The new regime has a different opinion.

“Trade spot to watch: #Browns at No. 8”.

DePodesta did acknowledge, of course, that all those picks are only valuable if you use them to draft good players. The Browns have now managed to improve their odds to build a new, younger roster through 2018 while still possessing the potential to draft up to 12 players over three days this weekend. He’s the ultimate holdover, in fact.

“As of right now, I think the [San Francisco 49ers] like me”, he said according to CBS Sports.

That’s where the Titans had landed after their trade with the Rams for the first pick.

Again, none of this matters if he can play and they can provide the infrastructure for him to succeed.

The Browns chose Coleman over Laquon Treadwell from Ole Miss, Josh Doctson from TCU and a number of other highly regarded receivers. “Emmanuel was the best player left on our board and we had a first-round grade on him, so we were hopeful”. I would expect the Cowboys to be targeting him – he’s exactly the kind of player that Cowboys defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli loves.

Among the reasons for taking Ogbah, Brown and Jackson made it clear Cleveland’s in the market for pass rushers who can make a difference.

No one could have predicted Tunsil’s slide. He’s also got some intriguing numbers.

Maybe that’s who they would have taken at 15. Certainly not since they came back into the National Football League in 1999.

Although the Browns have a major question mark at QB with Robert Griffin III and whichever rookie they draft this weekend, Coleman is a legitimate No. 1 weapon that Jackson and his offensive coaching staff should have tons of fun working with.
