Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel was demoted this week after he lied to the team about when a video of him partying was recorded, a league source confirmed.

Pettine was asked Wednesday if Manziel admitted the video was from last weekend.
“I’m not prepared to answer that at this time”, Pettine said. He partied just days after he had been named the starter and discussed the team’s expectations for his off-field conduct with Pettine, offensive coordinator John DeFilippo and quarterbacks coach Kevin O’Connell.
“But this decision tells me the Browns don’t trust him and probably don’t think he’s worth the trouble”.
When pressed, Pettine added, “I addressed this situation in detail on Wednesday, and when I say I’m sorry to disappoint, I’m not really”, he said. Pettine refused to elaborate on November 27.
