However, discovering why Harrouff stabbed 59-year-old John Stevens III and his wife 53-year-old Michelle Mishcon, does not matter to the couple’s children.

The sheriff said Harrouff had joined his family for dinner at a restaurant a short distance away when he stormed off, apparently agitated about slow service.
She said her son had been “acting strange” in the last week or so and “would say things like he had super powers, he was here to protect people and other such odd remarks”, according to the report.
“I think he had a knife”, Fisher told a 911 operator in a tape of the call released Tuesday. His parents were anxious about his behavior so they called the police and some of his friends to try to track him down. She also said her son hasn’t ever talked about hurting himself, and he’s always been courteous and respectful toward all law enforcement.
Harrouff is also being charged for stabbing Jeff Fisher, a neighbor who tried to intervene during the attack. “It’s disgusting”, Stevens says he is grateful for his father’s friends who have come forward and offered to help with the children but “there is no real replacement for a grandfather”.
Harrouff is conscious but heavily sedated and under armed guard in a hospital, according to the sheriff’s office.
Harrouff was also taken to the hospital, where he is stable and coherent, deputies said. Both were stabbed multiple times and sustained “massive trauma” to their bodies.
Attorney Michelle Suskauer told WPTV she’ll be representing Austin Harrouff if he survives. But certainly, there are mental health issues that are going to have to be investigated here.
It’s the same class of chemical that’s used to make so-called bath salts, a drug that was found to be behind a number of alarming incidents, including the case of a man in Miami who allegedly chewed another man’s face while high on bath salts in 2012. Harrouff had taken off his shirt, but Harrouff’s core temperature was not elevated, Snyder said.
Another substance that can cause similar effects, bath salts, could be involved but Snyder said Tuesday it was too early to speculate.
