Bruins send goalie Malcolm Subban down to Providence
The most notable players cut were goaltender Malcolm Subban (assigned to AHL’s Providence Bruins), and 2015 first-round picks Jake DeBrusk (sent to WHL’s Swift Current Broncos) and Jakub Zboril (sent to QMJHL’s Saint John Sea Dogs).

The Bruins placed youngsters like Austin Czarnik, Frank Vatrano and Linus Arnesson in positions to make an impact on play, and instead Boston dropped a 3-1 preseason game to the Red Wings at TD Garden.
Also sent to Providence were Noel Acciari, Chris Breen, Anthony Camara, Brandon DeFazio, Justin Hickman, Zane McIntyre and Ben Sexton.
A number of young Bruins players got their chances to audition in big spots as the preseason begins drawing to a close, and they didn’t do much with them truth be told.
The native of Colorado Springs, CO has twice represented the U.S.in global play at the 2015 World Junior Championships (0-1=1 totals in 5 games) and earned a Silver medal at the 2013 Ivan Hlinka Memorial.
Free agent defenseman Ben Youds was released from camp and will attend Providence’s training camp.

The layoff at the start of camp for Rask has been a little unusual, but the netminder seemed fine with it. “That’s the plan for next week, and I’ll see plenty of action once the season starts, so I just want to get off to a good start”.
