Bruins’ Seth Griffith To Miss Three To Four Weeks With MCL Sprain

The 5-foot-9, 192-pound Griffith had enjoyed a decent camp skating with Alex Khokhlachev and Jake DeBrusk, and was hopeful he could build on the six goals and 10 points he posted in 30 games in Boston last season. Griffith had a leg-on-leg collision with a Devils player that caused the injury, and never returned to the game once he exited with the lower body injury. Griffith won’t get a chance to try to stick with the Bruins out of training camp now and he’ll start the year on the sidelines. September . He’€™d add two goals in the playoffs to end the season on something of a high note. He’s coming off of his best season as a pro, which isn’t saying much, but nevertheless he has always been an energy player. I am very interested to see what he can bring to the table.

The last player I chose to put in my list is Jonas Gustavsson. Over the next few weeks, the MassLive staff will be breaking down each of the players who are likely to make the roster heading into opening night on October . 8. He’s been in every major Bruins prospect ranking around, and now he wants his opportunity at the National Hockey League . Tuukka played way too many games previous year for the Bruins and it will be interesting to see how Gustavsson plays during camp to secure a spot on this team. That’s something Boston has used to its advantage, notably with Kelly in past years, including the last two when he was on a line with Carl Soderberg. “€I don’€™t [have] to change a whole lot; it’€™s just a matter of getting pucks deep and not trying to be fancy all the time”. “I think I’m ready for the chance”.

Griffith’€™s bid to impress the B’€™s will be on hold for now. “We need to play with a little bit quicker pace”.
