Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift early winners at MTV video awards

The song is also up for video of the year, and will compete with Swift’s “Bad Blood“, Beyonce’s “7/11”, Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright” and Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud“. Then Minaj calls out Cyrus on live television while she accepted the award for “Best Hip-Hop music video“. “I think there’s a way you speak to people with openness and love“. SWIFT said. “I have been a fan of his since I remember…” Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears have all won the award in the past. R&B queen, who was nominated in five categories, took home just one award- best editing for her track “7/11”.

This week, MTV made a series of major announcements about the show.

Taylor has had a glittering array of guests on her 1989 tour, but it was her turn to make a special appearance as Nicki opened the show at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Host Miley Cyrus speaks onstage.

“Ellen, you ain’t got nothing on this”, she said. Well, about a minute into the video, we see a lion looking over Swift with protective eyes as she begins her endeavor with Eastwood. The duo closed their set with a brief portion of “Bad Blood” and a huge hug, eventually putting an end to the rumors of feud between them.

It was a night that was filled with glitz, glamour, weird outfits and equally freaky statements, and some good music. “I lost this award back in 2008”, Cyrus said, frustrated, and turning towards Minaj.

I watched the whole show.

Best male video honour went to Mark Ronson and singer Bruno Mars for “Uptown Funk“.

Presenters included BRITNEY SPEARS, REBEL WILSON, ICE CUBE, JOHN LEGEND, KYLIE JENNER, O’SHEA JACKSON, JR., RITA ORA, NE-YO, MIGUEL, EMILY RATAJKOWSKI, JUSSIE SMOLLET and SERAYAH.
