Brunswick pastor charged with molesting child at church

The 56-year-old Adkins, who has congregations in Atlanta, Jacksonville and Brunswick, Georgia, is an outspoken anti-LGBT activist in the Jacksonville area.

A right-wing pastor who operates churches in Florida and Georgia, and made a name for himself by slandering LGBT people, was arrested Friday on charges of child molestation.

Adkins turned himself in on one count of aggravated child molestation and one count of child molestation at approximated 9 a.m. Friday.

Charlotte Adkins said she and her husband, despite the allegations, share a concern for the mental health of the accuser.

Adkins’ attorney, Kevin Gough, says that his client isn’t guilty of the crimes, calls the allegations unfounded and is sure Adkins will be cleared of any and all wrongdoing.

Anti-gay pastor Kenneth Adkins’ Twitter account is now visible only to “confirmed followers”.

Adkins was included on a panel of religious leaders debating the pros and cons of HRO expansion past year.

After the Orlando massacre at the Pulse gay club, he tweeted that gay people deserved what they got.

“I don’t see none of them as victims”.

“Been through so much with these Jacksonville Homosexuals that I don’t see none of them as victims”.

She told the Times Union: ‘Ken and I have treated him like family, as has our church.

His work as a political consultant has been marked by harsh attacks on opponents. He posted video on YouTube to poke fun at a Glynn County School Board member.

Adkins served as a media advisor for the campaign of Dr. Peter Murphy, a former heart surgeon who successfully ran for District 2 Glynn County Commissioner.

He will continue to be held without bail at least through the weekend, but his attorney believes that a bail hearing may come in the case as soon as Monday.
