Amid ongoing talks between heads of border guards of India and Pakistan, there has been no let up in skirmishes between troops of the two countries along the Line of Control (LoC) dividing Kashmir.

Rajnath Singh told the delegation led by Pakistan Rangers chief Maj.Gen. Umar Farooq Burki, who called on him after the talks, that India “wants friendly relation with Pakistan and will never fire the first bullet”.
The delegation that had reached New Delhi the previous evening via Amritsar includes officials of Sindh Rangers, interior ministry, Survey of Pakistan, Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) and immigration department.
The delegation of Pakistani Rangers met their counterparts in the Border Security Force on Thursday.
I wouldn’t say anything beyond that the talks went on in a very cordial manner and we are happy about it…
After the high-level meeting between the two countries, India and Pakistan on Saturday agreed to jointly resolve sensitive issues like ceasefire violations and cross-border infiltration through exchange of information, including via e-mail and over the telephone.
“The talks will also endeavour to focus on positive issues like different levels of communication, more simultaneous coordinated patrolling and other confidence building measures”, according to a BSF statement.
Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh has assured Pakistan that India will not be the first to violate ceasefire agreement between the two countries at border in future. But we want to have a good relation with Pakistan.
He added that there was no proposal under consideration for the meeting of national security advisors of Pakistan and India on the sidelines of United Nations annual session in New York later this month.
It is also pertinent to be mentioned here that both sides do not raise issues related to disputed territory of Kashmir.
