Family members of the expelled BJP leader Dayashankar Singh today filed an FIR against BSP supremo Mayawati and her party leaders for using abusive language against Singh’s wife, daughter and his other relatives.

The state BJP leaders are set to meet Governor Ram Naik to demand arrest of BSP General Secretary Naseemuddin Siddiqui and other leaders who took part in a demonstration on Thursday where foul and threatening language was used against Swati, Daya Shankar Singh’s wife, and his daughter.
The BSP leader’s remarks evoked sharp reaction from BJP, which said the party had already acted against Dayashankar and the matter should not be politicized.
“Can a person punished multiple times for a single mistake…If something happens to my children, will Mayawati take responsibility for it?” she questioned.
An FIR was filed against Dayashankar two days ago on the basis of a complaint filed by BSP national secretary Mevalal. Based on what Dayashankar Singh said about Mayawati ji, I think its Dayashankar’s family which is like that. However, the BSP continued with its aggressive posturing and said it would hold protests on Monday demanding immediate arrest of Dayashankar Singh, who has since been expelled from the BJP.
Singh also said that he had apologised immediately and doing the same again. “There was an attempt to instigate violence and riot during the protest by highlighting differences on caste lines”, she said in the complaint, adding that slogans at the protest amounted to outraging the modesty of a woman. She alleged that her 12 year old granddaughter is in trauma and the family fears life threat from BSP workers and its leaders. Strangely, none of the BJP bigwigs who were present in the Rajya Sabha raised even a mild objection to her wild retort.
Knowing Mayawati’s retaliatory instincts, it would be quite natural for her to not only make a huge issue out of this incident but to also keep its flaming burning until the assembly elections next year.
