Glennon had only positive things to say about Winston: “He’s a good player”. “The architects are drawing that up”.

Murphy played in 11 games (three starts) last season and had 31 receptions for 380 yards and two touchdowns.

“Jameis Winston will be our starting quarterback”.

Despite Saturday’s endless downpour that forced the team to move practice elsewhere, the field conditions at the team facility were in impressive shape, and didn’t seem to have much of a negative impact on the workout. “It will be a huge convenience and would be kind of cool”.

Winston’s coaches are reserving immediate judgment and are focusing more on the way Winston handles himself, how well he shows he knows the play calls, and not just how many mistakes he makes, but how quickly he corrects them.

“A lot will be talked about the quarterback, but how we’re perceived and how we do this season will be based on a lot more than just that”, Smith said.

I want to see him tell Evan Smith to shut up a couple times.

“We’ve been talking about that for a while, ” he said. “But like I’ve said this entire process, this is my first training camp, it’s my second day, really, practicing at camp in the NFL”.

“We have to put last year behind us. The architects are actually drawing that up right now”.

“They’re being put into that role quicker, too”, Smith said. “This stadium is actually a fantastica place. We’re excited about that”.

Even before the practice, Winston drew praise from Buccaneers co-chairman Bryan Glazer. “They came to see Winston”. “Jameis is ready to take the reins and go with it. The mental part, the physical part and just being a quarterback in the NFL and taking all the criticism that goes with that, he’s ready for that”.

Yet Dotson, a seventh-year player who is now the Bucs’ longest-tenured, understands the excitement.

But Smith cautioned that Winston has a lot of improvement to make during the preseason.

“I’m not disappointed at all”.

Nevertheless, he stated the Bucs have the potential to go far and allowed that “something can occur”. It’s irritating to observe, however as a lot as we personal the staff, we’re followers, and we need to win.
