According to a Palm Beach police report, Louis Murphy, 29, a seven-year National Football League veteran and former Florida Gator, was attending a wedding reception at the Flagler Museum on Whitehall Way.

According to a report by Greg Auman of tampabay.com, Murphy awoke to find that he had been locked in the facility after falling asleep in the museum’s courtyard. Instead, he just had to pay $1,000 to fix the door he had to break in order to call for help.

Murphy has agreed to pay $1,000 to fix the door and will not be charged for the damage or for being inside the museum after hours.

“With no one around, my only option was to break a small glass pane of the door in order to access a phone and call for help”, Murphy said in a statement to the Tampa Bay Times. The police arrived and freed Murphy.

According to Henry Morrison, the Flagler Museum facilities manager, the damage to the door will cost almost $1,000, but both parties have agreed to work out the fix costs among themselves.
