Buckley loaned to Leeds
The Sunderland winger’s three-month loan move to Elland Road was rubber-stamped today after spending the last week training with the Championship outfit.

Buckley has struggled to break in to Dick Advocaat’s first team plans and he was not even named in the Dutchman’s 25-man Premier League Black Cats squad. He is expected to complete a permanent £1m switch when the transfer window opens in January. Buckley revealed that several teams from the Championship were interested in acquiring his services.
“I don’t think Sunderland were that keen on me going at first but they decided that was probably best for me and best for them, too”.
The 25-year-old, who previously played at Brighton, could make his debut for Leeds as early as tomorrow when they take on Middlesbrough at Elland Road.
Byram, in the final year of his contract, has failed to agree a new deal with the club and was among the substitutes at Middlesbrough as speculation mounted over his future.
“I was keen to come here and eventually it got sorted out, which I was pleased about”.
Buckley also spoke to Leeds’ website, saying: “I wanted to go out and get a few games at a big club, and Leeds was the flawless opportunity for me to do that”.
“It’s a massive club with a good manager”.
“I’ve not played much football over the last four or five months – I just want to get back out there and show what I can do”.
Leeds fans, are you excited to see Will Buckley in action for your side?
Before a £2.5m move to Sunderland last summer, Buckley enjoyed his footballing career at Watford, Rochdale and Brighton & Hove Albion.
