Bucs’ Jameis Winston reminds fans that rookie quarterbacks throw picks

According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, the Buccaneers are prepared for Winston to deal with “growing pains” and that they expect him to be “ready” for Week 1.

But his willingness to take chances for the shot at making a play downfield is something that was evident from his days at Florida State – he had 18 interceptions last year, whereas Mariota had four playing in a different offense. We wouldn’t consider it a bad thing from a fantasy perspective.

“A gunslinger mentality is good; it’s a good thing to have”, said offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter.

It won’t be so easy in the NFL – undefeated or one-loss seasons don’t happen often, even for the NFL’s most accomplished quarterbacks.

“I’m studying everything. I’m studying everything, whether it is tendencies or right now we’re preparing against our defense”. Winston will likely have to learn to lose, something that has been so foreign to him. “With my glass being half full, I’m pretty fired up about those takeaways we got on the defensive side”.

Flying around and testing their starting quarterback.

This is the learning curve for the top draft choice and Tampa Bay savior.

“You’re not ready to be the starting quarterback if you need a mentor”.

On a side note, I don’t care if Drake gets help with his lyrics.

“As a general rule, you always want to push the ball down the field but normally there’s a second read and a third read too”, coach Lovie Smith said.

Center Evan Smith has taken particular interest working with Winston, and told USA TODAY Sports he routinely checks with Winston every time the quarterback steps into the huddle. Despite all the hype, Winston is still a rookie. “It’s about getting better every single day”. One was in 2010, when they went 10-6 but missed the playoffs, and the other two were Greg Schiano’s years as head coach, because i’m a fool who thought that an insane man could somehow not implode a team while simultaneously ruining the career of Tampa’s all-time passing touchdown record holder and infecting the team with MRSA. We have plenty of veterans in that huddle that he can lean on – me, Logan, Vincent [Jackson]. “You know he’s going to go back there and pull the trigger no matter what play they call”.
