Buffalo Bills: A frustrating loss

The New England Patriots on Monday ground out a bruising 20-13 victory over the Buffalo Bills to keep their unbeaten start to the season intact. He is 25-3 lifetime against Buffalo, including 2-0 this season.

But Brady didn’t have one of his best days against the Bills. “I think we can play better”, Brady said. “He’s smart. He gets rid of the ball when he needs to. He doesn’t take risks”. He has thrown 62 touchdown passes against Buffalo, also second most all time.

Ryan also said backup receiver Marcus Easley is not expected to play because he is in the NFL’s concussion protocol.

Leodis McKelvin fumbled a punt that led to the Patriots opening a 20-10 lead on Stephen Gostkowski’s 35-yard field goal late in the third quarter.

Not once have I blamed a Buffalo Bills loss this season on the play of Tyrod Taylor, until last night.

White carried twice for 14 yards and a touchdown, and he made two catches for 32 yards and another score.

Though Taylor finished the game against the Patriots, he was hampered by an injury to his right shoulder in the final quarter.

“There’s going to be mistakes, but let’s play so well that that removes all doubt and takes that out of the factor of us winning or losing”, Whaley told WGR earlier in the day. With the offensive line healthier, C David Andrews, who had played every snap of the season, was replaced by Bryan Stork after a first series that saw Andrews guilty of a penalty – Andrews returning later with Stork moving to guard….

While an inadvertent whistle in the third quarter on Monday night likely cost the Patriots a touchdown, the Buffalo Bills appear to be just as frustrated. They won despite Brady throwing away one pass after another to avoid sacks and interceptions.

Pivotal sequences such as the one at the end of the first half underscored, to Ryan, why the Patriots have once again defined themselves as the team that he and other teams must chase. “You got to give them credit. They’ve got a good defense”, said Gronkowski.

Panthers: The National Football League has announced that Carolina backup defensive end Wes Horton has been suspended without pay for the team’s next four games for violating the policy on performance-enhancing substances. On Monday night, receiver Aaron Dobson was knocked out of the game with an ankle injury. “I have no idea”.

As they’ve done all year, though, the Pats offense eventually adjusted – even using Bills head coach Rex Ryan to help make those tweaks. This was an absolutely bad throw by Brady off of his back foot and to a young receiver Chris Harper who was never open at any point in his route.

-DE Mario Williams was one of several Bills to get hurt in the game. “I mean, obviously, he was playing well”.

“In the game, you take hits, it’s a physical game”, running back LeSean McCoy said. “Once it did happen, I thought the crew did a good job as to where they were going to put the football”.
