‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ actor arrested in Upstate New York, accused of choking
The 44-year-old actor, who played Xander on the popular show from 1997 to 2003, was arrested on Wednesday in Saratoga Springs, New York.

The actor best known for “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Criminal Minds” was taken into custody a little before midnight, according to the Albany Times Union, and later was charged with third-degree robbery, two counts of criminal mischief and one count of obstruction of breathing. Police say the girlfriend told officers called to a downtown hotel Wednesday night she had gone to return property to Brendon and meant to leave. But Brendon objected, grabbed her auto keys after which threw her cellphone into the road when she tried to name for assist, a police report stated. Authorities say they don’t know if he has a lawyer.
Brendon, who’s from Sherman Oaks, California, was released from jail Thursday after posting a $20,000 bond.
He called himself an addict and said he had gotten drunk before a taping of “Dr. Phil” in a Facebook post on his official page in September.
Officer responded to a hotel room on South Broadway where they found a 33-year-old female victim, police told Gazette news-gathering partner CBS 6.
In a March interview after the Florida arrest, Brendon revealed that as a child he’d been molested for two years by a teacher.
It is the fourth time he has been arrested this year, with charges ranging from public intoxication to property damage.
The former Buffy star was found by an officer in soiled pyjamas and struggling to walk.
Meanwhile, back in June, Brendon chose to enter rehabilitation for alcoholism, depression, and substance abuse, where he stayed for several weeks as he sought to battle his demons. He was reportedly charged with grand theft and criminal mischief.

It’s at fan events that Brendon has gotten in trouble: In the previous year, he’s also been arrested on suspicion of destructive behavior in hotels in Florida and Idaho.
