Former Buffy actor Nicholas Brendon was arrested on Wednesday, September 30, for allegedly threatening and choking his girlfriend in upstate New York.
N.B. was subsequently charged with two counts of criminal mischief and one count of obstruction of breathing, which are misdemeanors.
Police said the girlfriend told officers called to a downtown hotel on Wednesday night that she had gone to return property to Brendon and meant to leave.
The unnamed girlfriend also claimed Brendon had grabbed her by the throat and choked her.
He called himself an addict and said he had gotten drunk before a taping of “Dr. Phil” in a Facebook post on his official page in September.
Police say they responded to a hotel room on South Broadway, there they found a 33 year old female victim.
Though police made contact no arrest was made.
This is Brendon’s fourth arrest this year.
Police interviewed the woman in the room and put out a description to other officers in the area to find Brendon. In May, he was arrested for public intoxication, and then in both February and March he was arrested after he trashed hotel rooms while intoxicated.
The actor also was arrested in October 2014 at a hotel in Boise, Idaho the night before a Comic-Con event and was charged with malicious injury to property and resisting and obstructing police officers.
Monday on Twitter, Brendon acknowledged his depression, saying he had “a touch of the anxiety” that day and adding, “let’s not lose sight of the fact that I’m a sexual abuse survivor”.
