Bugatti Chiron Hits Monterey for US Debut

For those of you that plan to visit the Monterey Car Week this year and want to see the new Bugatti Chiron in person, it is now on display at The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering. The Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo Concept will be on display too. Orange indicator markers are seen in the bumper while the speedometer is now displayed in miles per hour, topping out at 300 miles per hour. Bugatti will be using this vehicle to try and break the land speed record of 429km/h for a production auto.

Let’s look forward to Bugatti’s attempt to break the old record with officials from the Guinness World Records. More than 200 build slots have already been sold, with Bugatti stating that around 30 percent of these have been acquired by customers in the U.S. The very first Chiron has already been delivered to a customer, although this was a pre-production example and not one of the 500 production models. He also owns Bugatti’s Vision Gran Turismo concept vehicle.

Of course, power still comes from a quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16, sending 1,480 horsepower to all four wheels. It can reach 0-100km/h in less than 2.5 seconds, and can break the 200km/h barrier in just 6.5 seconds. Deliveries of the new Chiron will begin in the fall.
