Meanwhile, there was no official reason as to his “August” visit to the Villa that lasted at about an hour.
As he emerged from the President’s office after the meeting, the Nobel Laureate was visibly surprised to see State House correspondents who were already laying ambush for him in front of the Press Gallery.
The presidency did not issue a statement as it is the norm after the meeting and President Buhari tweeted that they had a lot to talk about without giving a hint.
Soyinka said, “I didn’t come to see you people”, as he tried to waltz away from the journalists.
When persuaded to speak, he said: ” I came to talk about a few things, national and global matters, general matters.
When probed further of the discussion, he declined to give further details.
When asked further questions, he promised to hold a press conference in few days.
Recall he was the first to call for national economic summit in the present regime.
