Buick LaCrosse: Americans Can Do Luxury!

The new face of Buick has been introduced with the 2017 Buick LaCrosse at the 2015 L.A. Auto Show.

Style-wise, it’s obvious that the new LaCrosse borrowed most of its lines from the Avenir concept, although the final product looks closer to Opel’s design language, rather than an original approach.

Therefore, like the latest Malibu (which is yet to be confirmed for Australia), the new LaCrosse is claimed to be stronger but up to 300 pounds (135kg) lighter than the model it replaces. That’s a good thing, because the outgoing LaCrosse still happened to be haunted with the brand’s association with being the AARP’s top auto choice.

Offered exclusively at launch with a 3.5-litre V6 – which produces 305hp and 363 Nm (268 lb-ft) of torque – the Buick LaCrosse is GM’s way of covering the near-luxury mid-size market.

The Lacrosse’s interior has also been thoroughly updated: the materials are much better, and the exterior sound has also been muffled with the help of soundproofing, laminated glass as well as an active noise cancellation system.

“LaCrosse customers have plenty of available features to get excited about such as wireless charging for smartphones, perforated leather front seats with massage, pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, a rear-view camera, standard 18″ wheels or optional 20” wheels, and much more. Electronically-controlled Continuous Damping Control is available that further optimizes ride comfort and handling capabilities for the sedan.

The 2017 Buick LaCrosse will be built at General Motors’ MI facility and it’s set to hit dealerships next summer. “It is also drop-dead gorgeous”.
