Two construction workers were confirmed dead after a parking structure under construction collapsed in northeastern Tel Aviv late on Monday morning, according to The Times of Israel.

The collapse sent a large plume of dust floating over the area.

The two killed were construction workers, Israeli emergency services spokesman Yonatan Yagodovsky said.

There was no word of casualties or a cause of the collapse.

Earlier in the day, Col. Golan Vach, a commander in the unit, said seven people were believed to be trapped in the rubble at several different locations.

Hours after the collapse, five people remained trapped in the debris, said the Israel Defense Forces, which are leading the rescue effort.

“All of a sudden everything collapsed”, the man, identified only as Micha, told Channel 10 TV.
