Building trades union, women’s economic group back Clinton
A common refrain I hear from Hillary Clinton supporters is that even if the country could somehow muster the will to put Bernie Sanders into the Oval Office, nothing would ever get done because Republicans would block Sanders’ ultra-liberal policy proposals at every turn. Clinton said, noting Scott’s rejection in 2011 of $2 billion in federal money for high-speed rail.

“Because I believe anyone who wants to be president should give attention to Puerto Rico and remind our fellow Americans that Puerto Ricans are American citizens”, Clinton told the crowd sprinkled with “Puerto Ricans for Hillary” and “Estoy contigo” (I am with you) placards.
States vote on presidential nominees through primaries – where residents cast their ballots as they would in a general election – or caucuses, where voters gather, talk and openly decide who to support.
To make matters worse for Clinton, before she announced the date, she looked down at the podium to check her prepared speech.
“Florida is so much a symbol of America – diverse, dynamic, optimistic”, Clinton said. Sanders has struggled to extend his support beyond white liberals.
This cycle, 50% of likely Democratic caucusgoers identify as liberal, with 37% “moderate”, an October Des Moines Register/Bloomberg Politics Iowa Poll found. She led Trump 47 percent to 41 percent, Cruz 47 percent to 42 percent, Carson 46 percent to 43 percent, and Rubio 45 percent to 44 percent. While Trump is still the frontrunner – with 27% of support – Rubio and Cruz are gradually moving up – now in a dead heat for 2nd place with 17-16 percent.
Clinton’s visit to Tampa is a total contrast to Donald Trump’s stop in Sarasota on Saturday. She wrote that the program saves her family almost $300 a month in children’s insurance premiums the family would have to pay via her job for Visiting Nurse Services or at her husband’s job as a Des Moines school teacher.
“Her infrastructure plan is further proof that she understands that the state of our nation’s infrastructure is a bellwether for the health of the American economy and for the economic prospects of American workers”, said Sean McGarvey, the organization’s president.
“People do not view her as an overwhelming tidal wave here in Florida that is going to activate in the same way the minority title wave that Barack Obama did in 2012”, Wilson said.
Clinton appeared at the Meadow Woods Recreation Center in south Orange County, putting her in the center of Central Florida’s Hispanic, largely Puerto Rican, communities, including Meadow Woods and Buena Ventura Lakes. But she’s fighting a losing battle.
Clinton’s latest trip through Florida included a number of fundraisers. The location of the event has not been confirmed to News4Jax but we have learned it will start at 6:15 p.m.
“We have to extend our commitment to building and maintaining our infrastructure because it is a competitive necessity”, she said.

Speaking to reporters after the event, Mikulski laughed off Warren’s absence, suggesting that “maybe she has a cold”.
