He said Fiji was considered to be a low prevalence country for HIV/AIDS because the estimated number of people living with HIV in Fiji was less than a 1000.
Robinson says: “World AIDS Day is as important now as it has ever been, but for new reasons”.
The City’s plan draws upon the recommendations of New York State’s Ending the Epidemic Task Force report adopted earlier this year, and follows an initial 6.6 million dollars commitment for preventative medicine, training, and viral suppression funded by the Council. He said this is suggestive of a reduction in new infections and an indication that the health sector interventions are having positive impact.
