Bulls’ Derrick Rose suffers orbital fracture: Five things to know

Derrick Rose hasn’t been injury-free for an entire season since he won the National Basketball Association MVP award in 2011, and that remains the case this year.

Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose had surgery for a facial fracture on Wednesday and the team received a few positive news following the procedure.

Rose suffered the injury on the first day of practice for the Bulls after reportedly getting an elbow to the face.

If that is the case for Rose, he could be back by the end of October, when the season starts. She claims that after a friend helped her home, Rose, Allen and Hampton broke into her home and raped her. Court documents indicate that the woman “did not do any pregnancy tests or a rape kit because she was terribly ashamed and embarrassed”. But Rose’s comments and decision making concerning his array of injuries make me view him as “The Guy who Just Plays Ball” instead of “The Guy who is a Ballplayer”.

He wasn’t in a dour mood by any stretch, but Hoiberg sounds fully indoctrinated into dealing with life without Rose-perhaps a bit too early for his liking. So at least if Rose misses time, he’s not going to be out when the Bulls need him most. In Hoiberg’s rookie year in Indiana, Reggie Miller had the exact same injury late in the 1995-96 season, missed the final five games of the regular season and returned, with the red-tinted shades, for the deciding Game 5 of their first-round series against the Atlanta Hawks.

“I will be proven innocent, but at the same time, it hasn’t affected anything”, Rose added Monday. Is it time to dangle Derrick Rose on the trade market and see what type of value he has? As I mentioned before, when Rose is fully locked in, he’s as good as any other point guard in the league right now. “It’s for P.J. (his son) and his future, so that’s what I’m thinking about now”. Aaron Brooks could get more time based on this element alone. “I’ve just got to take this, use it as fuel and the season is around the corner”.
