Bulls guard Rajon Rondo out indefinitely with broken thumb

So when the Celtics’ first-round Eastern Conference playoff series against the Chicago Bulls shifts to the United Center on Friday night, Stevens is leaving his options open – even if that means changing how his team looked in two lopsided losses.

Game Three is in Chicago on Saturday morning as the Celtics face the possibility of not playing in front of their home fans again this season. Well, just like being on the road, they have to control the tempo.

The Bulls stole home court advantage from the one-seeded Boston Celtics on Sunday to take a 1-0 series lead.

Boston Celtics point guard Isaiah Thomas, 28, may be having the most challenging week of his life. He had veterans, Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce around him. “There’s not too much more to say about it”.

“Obviously, I’ve been told of the gesture”, Stevens said earlier Wednesday. “Whatever it is we have to try to do that as a team”. We looked like a team that wasn’t soaking the moment. “Basically that’s all he was saying, with a little more KG into it”.

The Bulls said Rondo underwent a subsequent exam, and X-rays confirmed the thumb fracture.

The Bulls shot 31.6 percent. The Celtics reacted exactly how Rondo would want, because he found the open man that was left by the help every single time. “It sounds like he’s going to be out for a while”.

He just missed out on his 11th play-off triple-double, finishing with 11 points, 14 assists and nine rebounds. Crowder has added his 16 points as the second contributor. Avery Bradley scored 15 and hit four of Boston’s 17 3-pointers.

“(Rondo is) such a fast-paced guard and he really is a guy that will get us into an offense based on where certain guys are. “We’re still expected to win”. At the half, he had eight points.

Bulls: The Bulls were 6 of 21 on 3-pointers. Game 3 is Friday in Chicago. The series now stands at 2-0, which is a result many would not have been surprised to see before the playoffs began. Boston maintained a comfortable edge after that.

Through two games, Thomas has averaged 25.6 points per game through the first two, but went 7 of 13 on free throws in Game 2. “It’s hard to make players at this level feel uncomfortable but I think you’re capable of doing it at times and we have to do as much as we can to make him not play his game at times”.

According to Chicago Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg, Rondo suffered the injury during the third quarter of Game 2. Surgery won’t be needed, the team said. “I was stretching my leg out”.
