This was just after Jimmy Butler had broken Michael Jordan’s 27-year-old franchise record for points in a half.

Jan 1, 2016; Chicago, IL, USA; New York Knicks forward Kristaps Porzingis (6)drives to the basket against Chicago Bulls forward Bobby Portis (5) during the second half at United Center. Butler dominated the quarter with 21 points after being held to two points in the first half.
The Bulls blew a 17-point lead before pulling away from the Knicks in the fourth quarter.
The Raptors took the lead for the first time since the second quarter on a three-pointer from Lowry with 8:30 to go in the fourth.
The Bulls visited Toronto on Sunday afternoon, having won the past six consecutive meetings with the Raptors, including one the previous week in Chicago.
The Wizards’ forward Otto Porter scored 20 points and won 11 rebounds, while Kris Humphries scored all of his 11 points in the fourth quarter, including seven during a decisive 15-3 run.
Pau Gasol had his 17th double-double of the season with 19 points and 13 rebounds as Chicago beat Toronto for the seventh straight time. Beyond scoring in double digits in each of the three games, Portis has also made tremendous contributions to the team’s rebounding effort, as he has grabbed around 8 rebounds per game during this stretch.
Not that it needs much explaining but here goes anyway: Butler was awesome today.
At times, the Knicks have shown promise as a progressive team but need to find the right playing style to ensure that they consistently win games. “We obviously needed every one of them”.
DeMar DeRozan topped Toronto (21-14) with 24 points, while Kyle Lowry added 22 points and 10 assists in the Raptors’ last home game for two weeks.
Jordan set the record with 39 points in the second half against the Milwaukee Bucks on February 16, 1989. “I came out aggressive after that”.
“I’m not all of the way there”, said Carroll, who returned last week after missing nine games with a knee contusion.
“I’m just trying to get my All-Star ratings up”, Whiteside said.
“I literally don’t have any thoughts about it at all”, Fisher said, before overseeing a dud from the 2016 Knicks.
For one, Chicago’s star player Derrick Rose has missed his past two games with hamstring injuries, according to UPI.
After shooting less than 40 per cent themselves in their past two games, Toronto shot 45.7 per cent on Sunday.

Carmelo Anthony’s team recovered enough to make it semi-interesting Friday, but not enough to prevent its fifth loss in six games, 108-81, to the Bulls. The Raptors travel to Cleveland to play the Cavaliers on Monday, the first of five straight road games, including a trip to London to play the Orlando Magic on Jan 14.
