Bulls PG Rose to have eye surgery after getting elbowed
No rhyme, no reason. Rose only started that rant in the first place because he was responding to a question about a civil lawsuit that accuses him and two friends of sexual assault.

Noah has been around for all of the Rose injury chronicles, so he feels for him in a way many may not be able to. Could be that one of his luxury residences is built on a sacred burial ground and the payback stinks.
The fortunate part for Hoiberg and the Bulls is that there was no structural damage.
Bulls point guard Derrick Rose’s surgery Wednesday on a left orbital fracture went as expected, but coach Fred Hoiberg said there remains no timetable for his return.
Rose told reporters at Monday’s Bulls media day that the allegation is false. Rose just as infamously doesn’t like to play when anything is less than ideal with his body, which means the prospect of him having to wear an annoying facial mask is a bit daunting.
That workday is going to be a point of dispute in the case, though, because Jane Doe says it wasn’t as easy for her as Rose’s lawyers are making it sound.
Rose, who comes in at No. 20 on Forbes’ list of the world’s highest paid athletes (when it comes to salary and endorsement deals), signed a $95 million contract with the Bulls in 2011 and was named the NBA’s most valuable player the same year. Rose will be sidelined for a portion of the first training camp under Hoiberg, who was hired during the summer to replace Tom Thibodeau.
Aaron Brooks, Kirk Hinrich and E’Twaun Moore will be asked to handle bigger roles if Rose misses any regular-season games.
To misunderstand Rose would be to easily dismiss “the race card” here.
“He’s a tough kid”, center Pau Gasol said. “Once it’s healed, he’ll be ready to go”. You know, it’s getting through this. We don’t know how much he’ll be able to do even when he’s in his recovery mode, but he’ll still be here learning. Rose isn’t the first to have suffered this injury, nor will he be the last.
No one among the Bulls had even a theory, other than rotten probability, why Rose would be the franchise’s limping medical chart.
Playing in 51 games past year, Rose spent more time on the court than he had since the 2010-2011 season. They go to a single game a year with their son and you’re never available to play. As we draw closer to opening night, it’s time to move our focus from the potential impact of each offseason event and onto the broader issues that figure to define this season. They can’t afford to live in Chicago.

“I know he’s tough, but it was one of those plays, especially in practice, where everybody’s going hard”.
