The bully is seen going after Austin, blowing him with punches while Austin tries desperately just to cover his face.
Footage, filmed by a bystander, shows the junior knocking the bully to the ground with a single punch to stop the attack. What the f*** is your problem?’
Police arrested the alleged bully for misdemeanor battery.
Another student, Maya Jensen, said she appreciated someone stepping up to protect the visually impaired student who is a reportedly a friend of hers.
“I don’t think he really deserves that”, he said. “So many people came out at once and said he’s blind, and he continued to fight”.
“I swear to God, if you f– with this kid again, I will f– you up”, he says.
KCAL9 News caught up with some Huntington Beach High School students that had witnessed the bully assault followed by the bully having the tables turned on him.
One copy of the video has been viewed almost 25,000 times in a day on YouTube, though there are multiple versions available on other services as well.
“That bully deserved everything he got and more”, wrote one person.
“School resource officers, detectives and school officials are working to find out exactly what happened”, the Huntington Police Department said.
Police said the victim walked past the suspect at the school Wednesday afternoon, and an argument started, which then turned physical.
“
Huntington Beach High School has a very strong anti-bullying code of conduct and will not condone this type of behavior from any student.”
“Because of this, safety is the highest priority”, it said in a statement to the News.
