The incident began shortly before 5:30 p.m. when San Jose MERGE and K9 officers were doing a follow-up investigation on a fugitive they say is wanted for felony assault with a deadly weapon, burglary and attempted burglary, said San Jose police spokesman Officer Albert Morales.
The burglary in question was reported the afternoon of August 17 at a home in the 4000 block of Mia Circle off Branham Lane, when three men broke into and ransacked a home, according to San Jose police.
It turns out their little break is a big break for police because the burglars apparently never knew they were on camera. The three-minute video released that was taken inside the home shows the young men calmly entering a spotless kitchen, rummaging through the refrigerator. At one point, one of the suspects chugs down OJ from the carton.
One man opened the refrigerator doors and looked through a couple of times before taking a long gulp of orange juice and carrying the carton, along with a few other drinks, with him.
