Burhan Wani A Symbol Of The Kashmiri Intifada, Says Nawaz Sharif

Branding Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s address at the United Nations General Assembly as “immature” and full of “threats”, Minister of State for External Affairs MJ Akbar scoffed at Islamabad for wanting dialogue while holding a gun, adding India will never succumb to their tactics and blackmail.

Sharif had glorified a self-declared terrorist (Burhan Wani) belonging to Hizbul Mujahideen.

At a press briefing, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup, when asked whether cancelling the Indus pact was an option, said: “Eventually any cooperative arrangement requires goodwill and cooperation on both sides”.

Wani (22) was killed by the Indian security forces in an encounter on July 8. Sharif in his speech said that Pakistan is ready to “walk the extra mile” for dialogue with India, but New Delhi imposes unacceptable pre-conditions for talks.

“Similar false promises it has made to us – the global community – on terrorism”. It does not talk about the Secretary General wanting to intervene in Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier this year, Beijing refused to declare Masood Azhar – chief of Pakistan-based militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) – a terrorist.

Replying to Pakistan at the United Nations General Assembly on Thursday, India hit back at its neighbour, accusing it of “war crime” by sponsoring terrorism as state policy.

“We also hope that there will be better understanding of Pakistani position on Kashmir by the worldwide community”, the Chinese Premier added.

Swarup also refrained from answering if Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Islamabad for the Saarc summit. “The U.S. strongly supports all efforts between India and Pakistan that can contribute to a more stable, democratic, and prosperous region: including meetings between the India and Pakistani officials”.

“We are thankful to Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for investing huge resources for the safety and security of Chinese personnel in Pakistan”, the Chinese Premier said. “This is self incrimination by the Pakistan PM”, he said.

” Peace and normalization between Pakistan and India can not be achieved without a resolution of the Kashmir dispute”.

Activists of India’s Hindu Sena party burn an effigy of Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as they protest against the September 19 attack at an Indian army base in Kashmir. “Terrorism is not just directed towards India now”, he said.
