Alex Ward and Fiona Sperry, former members of Criterion, left the company a while bad and formed Three Fields, a new studio, but have remained mostly quiet ever since.

“What sort of driving game you ask?”

The first one confirms they’re working on two games, the first is a multiplayer sports game that’s coming in spring 2016.

What do you think of the news that Three Field Entertainment is working on an “innovative” new sports game and also a spiritual successor to the Burnout series? Three Fields’ tweets suggest it’s considering Burnout 2: Point of Impact, Burnout 3: Takedown (the best one) and Burnout Revenge as inspiration for its spiritual successor. Each of these aspects is synonymous with the Burnout franchise, which saw players racing a top speeds, often colliding head-on with oncoming traffic.

Videogamer observes that the hashtag “ShinyRedSomething” is a nod to the original Burnout’s codename: “Shiny Red Car”.

There have actually been five entries in the Burnout series, although the most recent – Burnout Paradise – deviated from the norm with its open-world scenario.
