‘Burnt’ Trailer: Bradley Cooper Gets Back Into the Kitchen

Judging a movie by its trailer is a fool’s errand, but I can’t help it-I’m already getting the feeling that Bradley Cooper will be the only good thing about Burnt, and that we may even hate him by the end.

The first trailer for the movie, which was originally called “Chef” then changed to “Adam Jones” before taking on the current title, shows Cooper’s hard-edged, renowned restauranteur striving for perfection.

Burnt” features casts including Sienna Miller, Omar Sy, Daniel Bruhl, Matthew Rhys, Uma Thurman, and Emma Thompson. He also just finished a run on Broadway as the iconic Elephant Man.

For Bradley Cooper fans, the plot may sound familiar as this is kind of the same as the 2005 Fox “Kitchen Confidential” where Cooper plays the same role and undergoes losses due to addiction as he tries to regain his spot at the top. He fully embraced the chef-world to become Adam Jones. He quickly became a restaurant world sensation, and apparently, an enfant bad, who torpedoed his career with his arrogance and drug abuse.

In an effort to redeem himself – as well as to win that third Michelin star that’s eluded him for so long – he opens a new restaurant in London, surrounding himself with the brightest culinary talents.

“Maybe I just wanted it really badly, and when I got it, I didn’t know how to hold onto it.”
