Headmaster Richard Marshall, said: “I am delighted with our A-level results, in particular the fantastic 73 % A*/A/B grades, meaning that nearly three in every four grades awarded at A2 were in the highest grade category”.

Modern Foreign Languages, Art and Design and Further Maths also saw “excellent” results: with Modern Foreign Languages seeing 50% of exams passed at A*-A (across 6 different language options); Art and Design celebrating a 93% A*-B rate in the specialist areas of Fine Art, Textiles and Graphics; and Further Maths seeing a “sensational” 75% of examination applicants achieving A* grades.

As a result of their outstanding grades, most students will proceed to their first-choice university, including all those who were successful in winning places at Oxford and Cambridge. We believe that all our pupils are capable of great things and support all of them to become the best that they can be, and it is great to see the variety and range of university destinations and courses they are moving on to.

The pass rate for Year 13 students at Marling was 99.1 per cent at A* to E this year – the same as Archway School.

“Jacob Kelman (Spalding) achieved one A* grade, two A grades and an A* grade for his Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)”. The real truth is that, while we expect everyone to work as hard as they can, education is also about enjoyment and challenge, exploring, adventure and making friends for life.

“It is inspiring to see such a high proportion of A*, A and B grades. The College continues to help students achieve their very best potential”.

Therefore, final results may be slightly higher than the figures shown here. “I wish all Bury College students every success at university or in their chosen career”. Furthermore, 38 students gained at least three A*/A grades.

“Students leave us to take up their places at university, on apprenticeships and in employment with confidence, ambition and the skills to succeed in the wider world”.
