The vehicle was circling back to the airport for an unknown reason when it crashed.
Police were investigating the possibility she suffered a medical condition.
Wayne Voorhees, Matt Kroupa and Kyle Rider were each taken to the hospital with significant injuries, Adams 12 Five Star Schools says. Ten people were hospitalized and eight others treated and released, officials said.
It was a somber start to homecoming week Monday at a suburban Denver high school after a bus carrying football players and coaches crashed at the airport, killing the driver and injuring 18 passengers, some critically.
– A pickup truck driver and a few students on a school bus were injured in a crash Tuesday morning in Polk County.
The students on board were mostly junior varsity football players returning home from a game in California.
The school bus was full of coaches and athletes from Legacy High School’s football team. The driver of the Dodge Ram pickup truck was ticketed for Inattentive Driving. Gaskins says the injuries to the students and the truck driver are thought to be minor.
Police haven’t released information on the cause of the crash.
The front end of the truck struck the left side of the bus, which was transporting 20 Kathleen High School students, the FHP said.
