There was wind, there was rain but all anyone really cared about was looking at the stars as filmmakers from Asia and beyond gathered in South Korea Thursday night for a Bollywood-flavoured launch of the 20th Busan worldwide Film Festival.
Mozez had said in a statement, “It is the ultimate honor for “Zubaan” to have its world premiere as the opening film for the Busan worldwide Film Festival”.
Zubaan is a coming of age musical drama starring Vicky and Sarah in the lead roles.
With the remnants of Typhoon Dujuan hovering overhead, workers toiled overnight to prepare both the Busan Cinema Center and the city’s Haeundae beach, where numerous festival’s events are held.
Produced by Guneet Monga and Shaan Vyas of Sikhya Entertainment and Metamozez Entertainment, “Zubaan” is a story of a young man who has a fear of music and is set in Punjab and Delhi.
BIFF executive programmer Kim Ji-Seok says the festival is well prepared to become a major entertainment event.
Hosting duties for the opening ceremony were shared between South Korean actor Song Kang-Ho and Afghan actress Marina Golbahari.
