Since then, Bush has relaunched his campaign with a new slogan and has adopted new strategies in his ongoing efforts to boost his poll numbers.
According to a poll released today by Monmouth University, real estate tycoon Donald Trump maintains his sizable lead in the New Hampshire Republican primary and Ben Carson holds onto second place, but the poll has a new occupant in the 3rd place slot – Marco Rubio. An internal Bush campaign document was later leaked showing that the Bush campaign was trying to keep donors in the fold by labeling Rubio a “risky” investment.
Bush said in Florida Monday that he is not going to campaign as an angry candidate because “it’s not what’s in my heart”.
BUSH: No, I mean, do we have to talk about Donald Trump? “And two, getting something done isn’t about yelling into a camera”.
The rivalry between to the two Floridians escalated last week after Bush took a shot at Rubio during the third Republican debate for missing Senate votes.
Bush is making a few tactical changes, such as spending more sustained time in early voting Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina.
But the message, an experienced conservative executive to succeed Democrat Barack Obama, a one-term senator before becoming president _ does not appear to be changing. Nor does Bush’s dry, matter-of-fact, and at times self-deprecating delivery.
No need to change, said Will Bissette, a 75-year-old Tampa real-estate investor who was among the 200 or so in the auditorium. “Jeb’s recognizing what he needs to do”. Many in the old Bush network now say they’ve picked another candidate to support or are staying out of the primary process altogether.
Todd Josko, a 47-year-old communications consultant from Tampa, said people will look back on Monday, “as the day the campaign turned around”.
“I will do everything in my power to win this race, but there are a few things some I’m not willing to do”, Bush said at an appearance in Tampa, Florida where he unveiled a new campaign slogan “Jeb Can Fix It”.

“I do not know any people who are strong supporters of the governor”, said Bruce Perlo, chairman of the Grafton County GOP, referring to Bush. But I’m running for president of the United States, and it’s a serious endeavor.
