Bush on Trump: Time to ‘punch him back in the nose’

Nikki Haley (R) is expected to endorse Sen. “We have national security focus voters here, social issues focus voters here, economic issues focused republicans here in SC”, said Moore. Picked to deliver the Republican Party response to President Obama’s State of the Union address in January, Haley, the daughter of Indian immigrants, used the opportunity to chastise Trump’s brand of politics, urging Republicans to resist the “siren call of the angriest voices”.

Jeb said he was “disappointed” by Haley’s endorsement of Rubio, his onetime Florida protégé, who Bush insists doesn’t have the experience or leadership qualities needed to be president. Ted Cruz (C) looks on during the Republican presidential debate in Las Vegas, Nevada Dec. 15, 2015.

Trump, who has led the Republican race for months, remains in the lead in SC.

The endorsement could provide Marco Rubio with much-needed momentum after a fifth-place finish in the New Hampshire primary.

The ad includes a clip from a 1999 interview where Trump says: “I’m pro-choice in every respect”. “The sound you’re hearing is the sound of screams coming from Washington, D.C.”, the senator told a rally in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Cruz, the Texas senator, has been trying to beat back charges of dishonesty from Trump and Rubio for weeks. The “cease and desist” letter threatened Cruz with legal action if he doesn’t take down the campaign’s most recent attack ad against Trump. A new Bloomberg poll of SC, which is holding its primary next week, had Trump with more than double the support of Cruz, 36 to 17 percent, in the state.

Rubio already has the endorsements of two other high profile South Carolina Republicans: Senator Tim Scott and Representative Trey Gowdy.

(CNN)In the middle of what is turning into a vicious and personally charged Republican presidential primary, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and Ben Carson will confront questions from voters Wednesday night at CNN’s SC town hall.

Rubio’s gain is also Mr. Bush’s and Cruz’s loss.

Trump later told supporters during a campaign event in Walterboro, South Carolina, on Wednesday that Cruz “stole” the caucuses, calling his actions “a disgrace”. “It is a remarkable contention that an ad that plays video of Donald Trump speaking on national television is somehow defamation”.
