Bush pledges military rebuilding at Citadel campaign stop
“Radical Islamic terrorists have declared war on the western world”, Bush plans to say, according to the excerpts.

“Their aim is our total destruction. We can’t withdraw from this threat, nor negotiate with it”.
“The brutal savagery is a reminder of what is at stake in this election”, Mr Bush said at The Military College of SC, known as Citadel.
He offered no specifics, but said the number of Americans sent to the region should be “in line with what our military generals – not politicians – recommend will be necessary to achieve our objective”. Kasich says this is a great day in his life, and he’s proud of his campaign team for their hard work in helping him exceed the tough signatures requirement.
But with the Paris attacks raising alarms among Washington policy makers and fears that the Syrian war is spinning further out of control, presidential candidates and Washington lawmakers have started calling for tougher action by the White House.
While the debate over the Syrian refugee crisis continues in the US, Bush said he thinks a better screening process needs to be put into place. There’s definitely a residual reluctance among a majority of Americans when it comes to the idea of another long term, bogged down ground war for American troops in that part of the world, but we’re also enough of a nation of realists to realize that we are indeed going to need to pound the **** out of them and Trump is the one delivering what’s needed.
“Since the attacks in Paris, the demand for action to stamp out ISIS has rightly grown”, Bush said. The state-by-state primary contests begin in February. But before Florida votes there are a few other states, including SC which goes third. The latest poll released Wednesday by Florida Atlantic University had the business mogul with 36 percent support in the state compared to 18 percent of Rubio, 14.5 percent for retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, 10 percent for U.S. Sen. However, he hasn’t called for a larger scale mobilization.
Bush also tied Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton to the current state of America’s defense posture, saying her foreign policy wouldn’t be any more aggressive or forward leaning than President Obama’s.
Following the Paris attacks, President Barack Obama vowed to ramp up airstrikes in Iraq and Syria, but ruled out the possibility of deploying more U.S. ground troops.
U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, the most hawkish on military action, called on Obama to coordinate military efforts with the French and allies in the Middle East to combat the militants. Such aircraft, such as the F-35 joint strike fighter, carry a price tag of roughly $150 million apiece. Bush did not specifically propose a way to pay for the buildup.
Many Republicans are coming around to the notion that they badly misread the mood of the conservative electorate and that the success of Trump and Carson represents a new political landscape with little room for a candidate of Bushs pedigree.
Bush also told Halperin on Tuesday that a commitment by the US need “not necessarily” be substantial.
