Bush sticks with basics but steps up enthusiasm for campaign

Backed by a political action committee that raised more than $100 million in the first half of the year, Bush was viewed early in the year as a likely front-runner, who is now fighting to emerge as the mainstream Republican standard-bearer.

Bush firmly replied, citing as he has for months his tenure as Florida’s governor. “I want to get better at it, yeah”.

“I called her said you’re wrong”.

But with Donald Trump as the ongoing Republican front-runner and Bush with a pathetic 4 percent in a recent poll, hasn’t the colorful billionaire developer and former reality show star sewed up the nomination?

“And just do it, go out and do it over and over again”.

“It doesn’t matter. It has no meaning”, Bush told reporters on his bus Wednesday. Not only the attack backfired on Bush, he has now been forced to apologize for taking a jab at french workers during his lackluster effort to describe Rubio as lazy. “I have enough self-awareness to know that I’m in the middle of the pack, but I know how I need to get where I need to be and worrying about the here-and-now is just completely irrelevant”.

The easy access offered a clear contrast to Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton, as well as most of his Republican primary rivals.

“You guys elect presidents, and that’s why I’m here”, Bush told several crowds. “(McCain) had a second act and came back from what the pundits said was an impossible task and won”.

Scott Brown, the former senator from Massachusetts who hosted the barnyard meet-and-greet with Bush, sounded a similar note.

“The so-called debate is more of a performance”. He asked the veterans in the room to stand and asked that those in attendance give them a few applause for serving their country. It’s a chance to be able to say what you think. “I strive each and every day, I pray each and every day to get better as a husband, as a father, as a leader”.

“I do pretty good when I’m out with real people interacting with them, have fun doing it. But the debate process is different”, he said.

Mr Bush had asked. “But his life has been simplified to unconditional love, having a martini at 6 o’clock at night, getting massages, watching whatever he watches – Fox and CNN probably”. But as he pounded across New Hampshire this week, Bush has been working even harder at something beyond a zestier stage presence.

The moderator in both those debates was the late Tim Russert. Then, to punctuate his little lecture on how to appeal to low-income black families, the multimillionaire heir to the Bush fortune said he would tell them: “You can achieve earned success”. “You remember that last debate where (McBride) could not answer one question?” He kept bobbing and weaving. But Jeb, people just chew him up. Bush plans to wrap up the three-day visit Thursday.

I think the rumors of Jeb Bush’s imminent demise are radically overstated.

Bush has nonetheless found himself spiraling from a once-presumed nominee to languishing in single-digits, as his former ally Marco Rubio has risen as a viable alternative for the Republican establishment.
