Barbara Bush, the wife of President George H.W. Bush, has recorded a phone message for her son Jeb Bush’s presidential campaign.

The New Republic’s Jeet Heer said in response, “There have been many sad moments in Jeb Bush’s ill-fated campaign, but this is surely one of the most pathetic”.
“There are other people out there that are very qualified and we’ve had enough Bushes”, she said on NBC television. If Bush 43 is set to reemerge in this race, Bush 41’s got to show up at some point to balance the scale.
“Rather than talking about how popular they are or how great they are, he’s doing it because he sees a huge need and it’s not being filled by anybody”, she said, likely referring to Trump, the GOP front-runner. His heart is big.
Barbara Bush wasn’t always so sanguine about her eldest son’s bid to become the third Bush to hold the presidency. “I’m just joking”, he said to laughs, before pausing.

“I know that Jeb is prepared to lead our nation and tackle the tough issues”. She told C-SPAN in 2014 that “There’s no question in my mind that Jeb is the best-qualified person to run for president, but I hope he won’t”. I admit to being prejudiced, as I am his mother’.
The former first lady — the wife of a president and the mother of another -is wildly popular among Republicans.
On Saturday, Trump continued to hit back at Bush at a campaign event in Sioux Center, Iowa, saying that Bush is “weak” and “pathetic”, referencing Bush’s ad with his mother.
“George W. did the same thing”. Hillary Clinton, Chris Christie, Marco Rubio, and John Kasich have all called for a “no-fly zone” to counteract President Bashar al-Assad-a precursor to “regime change”, without the years-long commitment the latter term implies. It looks like Jeb Bush isn’t getting much attention, even after the “mommy” advertisement.
