Busiest day of the year for your postal worker
The U.S. Postal Service says this will be its busiest day of the year, with customers trying to beat tomorrow’s deadline for getting cards and packages delivered before Christmas. You’ve still got time, but not much. The US Postal Service says it will handle 612 million pieces of mail and packages today alone! It makes mailing and shipping easier this time of year. USPS predicts the busiest delivery day to also be Monday, December 21.

If you plan to ship standard post, get it out by Tuesday.
The Postal Service hired temporary employees to help sort through packages and cars expected to go through Lowcountry post offices.

If you still have last-minute holiday cards and gifts to send, don’t worry.
“Initial package volume is well above last year’s pace”, Chicago District Manager Greg Johnson said in a release.
The deadline for Priority Mail is Monday, Dec. 21 and for Priority Mail Express it is Wednesday, Dec. 23.

UPS forecasts a holiday delivery of more than 630 million packages, and their Black Friday to New Years Eve deliveries are up more than 10 percent from last year.
