It was suggested that Busquets may be tempted to reunite with former manager Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium next season, but he has committed to a club for whom he has played 384 times.
Barca announced on Friday that Spain midfielder Busquets is set to put pen to paper on fresh terms that will keep him at Camp Nou until June 2021, with the option of a further two-year extension depending on appearances. “He appeared in 53 games in the 2015/16 season, under the orders of head coach Luis Enrique”. He appeared in his first La Liga game on Sep.
Busquets also has the distinction of being one of the most decorated players of his generation.
During his eight seasons with Barca, the Spain worldwide has won 23 major honours, including six La Liga titles, three Champions Leagues, four Copas del Rey, three UEFA Super Cups, four Spanish Super Cups, and three FIFA Club World Cups.
