Busy Day For Clinton: Zika Meeting, Fundraiser & Trump Threat

During a rally in Wilmington, North Carolina, on Tuesday, Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump made some statements about the second amendment and Hillary Clinton that are getting a lot of attention.

First, he falsely claimed that Clinton, his Democratic opponent, wants to “essentially abolish the Second Amendment”. Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is.

“This is simple – what Trump is saying is risky”, Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook said in a statement, reports The Hill.

In an unprecedented move, the United States Secret Service has responded to the presidential hopeful’s words. “And what he meant by that was you have the power to vote against her”.

Trump replied: “Well, I just heard about that, and it was awesome because nobody in that room thought anything other than what you just said”.

This line of defense, which others in the Trump camp have offered up, ignores the fact that the Republican nominee was explicitly talking about what would happen after Clinton won the election.

Clinton has not called to abolish the second amendment but is campaigning to enforce stricter gun laws.

Another day on the campaign trail turned into another night of controversy, this time over Donald Trump’s comments about the Second Amendment.

The National Rifle Association also was quick to run to Trump’s rescue.

Birmingham MP Jack Dromey has labelled US Presidential candidate Donald Trump “a complete asshole” in an uncharacteristic outburst on social media. “It’s a political power”, he said.

The Clinton campaign and her supporters were quick to criticize it as an invitation for violence.

But for Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine), Trump’s latest remarks show how his history of “reckless” comments feeds violent assumptions. “I know he is a responsible man, a very, very successful man, a man who achieved a great deal and can be trusted much better than Hillary Clinton, who has been found to be extremely careless with the use of national security information”.

An agency spokesperson told Fox News, “The Secret Service is aware of the comment”, but would not say whether an investigation had been launched.
